Living Beyond Miracles

By far the best ever for Dyer and ChopraIf you enjoy Chopra or Dyer you will love this audio program. Recorded live at a unity church, it captures the two of them in uniquely inspired moments summarizing the best of their parallel philosophies on life, God and metaphysics. I've read and listened to much of what Dyer and Chopra have produced and this is probably the best thing either of them have put out because it so beautifully summarizes the essence of spiritual philosophy. I bought 15 copies just to share with friends and family. A must for your listening library.

Men for All Seasons: The Hunters & Pioneers
Published in Hardcover by Trophy Room Books (October, 1996)
Average review score:

Excellent biographical sketches & stories told with insightAnthony Dyer, the last President of the East African Professional Hunters' Association, brings together some of the most compelling lives in the history of eastern Africa. The book contains an astonishing wealth of photographs from the turn of the century to the present day. The focus is primarily on those brave and independent spirits who, drawn by its wild majesty, chose to make early Africa their home. Not forgotten are the women who came to Africa; the wives and daughters who knew all the joys and sorrows of life in a brutal, yet beautiful, land. Dyer brings to life the romantics, the pragmatists, the rascals, and the intellectuals. Highly recommended!

The Nutcase Chase

Sexual tension flares in this witty, but dangerous tale...I love the abruptness and blatant honesty of the spunky, feisty, gun-toting, lock-picking, heroine, Dale. Stan, the easy-going and charmingly sexy hero, is her perfect match! He is also one of the 'good old boys' type, and is both taken aback and undeniably intrigued by this small sexy gal full of fire. I do think the characters are too trusting of each other so early on in the story, but it flows well with the speed of the storyline. There is a great deal of sarcastic humor throughout the story that kept me snickering and both characters are cocky as hell! The secondary storyline of tracking a crazed serial killer who collects the nipples of his female victims is very strong and holds together well with the development of the two main characters. The sexual tension between the two rises quickly and I even got butterflies in my stomach! Dale is a tough girl on the outside, but a die-hard romantic on the inside, just crying out for Stan to force her into submission. But Stan is too soft and caring of a guy to push...will they ever get together? A very entertaining read with a guarantee of racing pulses and heavy breathing!

Pearl, her love touched two worlds
Published in Unknown Binding by Tyndale House ()
Average review score:

pearl is the most suspenseful book i have ever read!!!!!this book concerns the life of pearl kashishian who was 7 years old when the turkish massacre of armenia started. she was walking alone from her grandma's home when the attack began. she was told "run for your life!" this book documents her life of incredible danger--being sent to america alone to escape.answers to prayer are recounted till the very last page . secquel was written "brother of the bride" by donita dyer.best book i have ever read! unbelievable story. pearl died just before book was in print 1/6/77. she had prayed for someone to write this book to illustrate God's answers to prayer. very hard to find prints. contacted author and she sent sequal and told me publisher had been changed. have not been able to locate her since. would love to find her. excellent writer! lost my copy of the sequel but hope to locate one. both books are printed together. you read one and then turn book over and read the other one. this story would make a great movie. i wrote the producers of "the hiding place" by corrie ten boom and "joni" by joni ericson to suggest their making a movie of this remarkable life. i never got an answer. the way i found this book was unusual . i was in a church library brousing around and a little old lady asked if i had read "pearl".the cover looked dull and i waited till she had left to reshelve it..i had to leave first so i took it home and planned to return it later. one night i had nothing to read and opened it. this book grabbed my interest from the preface till the end. it is the best, most meaningful book i have ever read. i've given many copies for gifts before they quit printing it. never saw that little old lady again but i would love to have a copy of her top ten books list!!!! i wish i could express how much pearl's life taught me. the account of her leaving her family to go to the new world to marry someone she did not know and the danger of having to be smuggled out of her homeland, knowing this was her only chance for survival moved me tremendously. the chance of her ever seeing her family again being so remote was heartbreaking for her mother and father and siblings. as i was reading this account i couldn't help comparing my life's circumstances.my oldest daughter was about to be married and you can imagine how blessed i felt knowing i would be able to see her anytime i wanted to. this book has you hanging on the edge of your seat until the very last page. i wish it could be made into a movie or at least go back into another printing. i am still trying to locate the author. this is the first time i have gotten any acknowledgement of the existance of the book or of the author. my thanks to this web site.

Penrod's Pants (Ready-To-Read Book)
Published in School & Library Binding by Atheneum (March, 1986)
Average review score:

A chuckle for eveyone!Penrod is a most lovable character. In the five short tales that make up this title, the reader relates to the simple ideals of a young Penrod and his older, wiser friend, Griswold. The two are quite a pair as Griswold tries to help Penrod through some common dilemas. When trying to find pants "just like the ones Grandma sent", a child will relate to Penrod's idea of an identical match and Griswold's exasperation in helping him find it. Common courtesy is not always easy, and Penrod has a comical way of being courteous and still getting the last cookie! Children as well as adults will get a chuckle out of these 'life lessons' geared to the young readers. This is a great book to read at storytime, as an animated oral presentation brings it to life!! My kindergartners loved it!!
